Battery runtime is not as expected
Note: there is a known bug affecting battery life with the Fly6 CE. This has been remedied by firmware update V1.1.26.026. If you’re running a previous version, please update your firmware to improve the device battery life.
For expected runtimes depending on your settings please see below. If for any reason your Fly6 CE is not close to the expected runtime, please try the following:
- Ensure your Fly6 CE is fully charged (LED will illuminate green)
- Perform a bench test (see below)
How to perform a bench test
- Format your SD card.
- Disable Idle Mode via the CycliqPlus mobile app.
- Give your unit a full charge using a wall charger.
Once fully charged, place the unit on top of a flat surface and turn it on. Note the time you switch the unit on and the time the unit switches off to determine the battery life.
If the results from the bench test are well below expected runtime and your firmware is up to date, please create a support ticket for further assistance.
Expected runtime
Your Fly6 CE runtime will differ depending on your light mode and video settings. Expected runtimes are listed below:
Up to 7 hours 1080p at 30 FPS (frames/second), camera only mode with Electronic Image Stabilisation turned off
Up to 5 hours Lowest solid mode and camera
Up to 4 hours Medium solid mode and camera
Up to 3 hours Highest solid mode and camera
Note: depending on the age of your unit, battery deterioration can be expected. Road conditions and scenery complexity (eg. a desert as opposed to a forest) can also affect battery runtime as the EIS and higher bitrate will consume more power.
Colder temperature also affects battery runtime.
